Free Bulk File Hash Checker
Check that downloads and backups are complete and untouched. Get MD5, SHA-256 and other checksums for lots of files, of any size, and compare them with the ones you were given. Everything happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Quick human check, then the tool unlocks:
Compare with expected hashes (optional)
Paste one hash, or the contents of a checksum file (hash filename per line, as made by sha256sum, md5sum or this tool).
How to check file hashes in bulk
- Drop in your files, or press Choose a folder.
- Choose the hash types. SHA-256 is the most common today; MD5 is still used for quick checks.
- Optionally paste the hashes you expect. Press Calculate hashes to see โ for every match.
- Download the results as CSV, or as checksum files that sha256sum and md5sum can check.
๐ Your files are read by your own browser and are never uploaded to our server, even when they are many gigabytes.
What is a file hash?
A hash is a fingerprint of a file's contents. If even one byte changes, the hash changes completely. Software publishers list hashes so you can confirm a download wasn't damaged or tampered with, and comparing hashes is a quick way to prove two backups are identical.
