Where the dates come from
Dates come straight from each registry through RDAP, the official replacement for WHOIS. Most domain endings (.com, .net, .org, .uk, .info, .io, .co and over a thousand more) are supported. A few country registries, such as .de, don't publish expiry dates online at all.
- Expires is the date the registration runs out. Many registrars renew automatically a few weeks before, if auto-renew is on and the card on file is valid.
- Transfer prohibited (a "lock") is normal and protects the domain from being moved without your permission.
- Not registered means the domain is available to buy.
