How to turn images into text
- Drop in your images, or press Choose a folder.
- Choose the language of the text and how to save it.
- Press Get text. The first time, the recognition engine downloads (about 10 MB, plus about 2–5 MB per language).
🔒 Recognition runs in your own browser (Tesseract). Your images are never uploaded to our server.
For the best results
- Use sharp, well-lit photos taken straight on. Crop away the background with the Image Cropper if needed.
- Printed text works best. Handwriting is usually not recognised well.
- For scanned PDFs, use PDF to Text with OCR switched on.
