Free Bulk PDF Redaction Tool
Black out names, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers or any words you choose in many PDFs at once. Redacted pages are rebuilt as pictures, so the hidden text is really gone, not just covered by a black box that can be copied out. Everything happens in your browser.
Quick human check, then the tool unlocks:
How to redact many PDFs
- Drop in your PDFs, or press Choose a folder.
- Type the names or words to hide, and tick any ready-made patterns such as email addresses or phone numbers.
- Press Redact PDFs. You see a list of everything that was blacked out and a preview of the first redacted page, then download the files one by one or as a ZIP.
Why this is real redaction
Drawing a black rectangle over text in a normal PDF editor leaves the words underneath, and anyone can copy them out. Here, every page with something to hide is redrawn as a picture with the boxes burned in, and the original text, hidden layers and document properties (author, title) are left out of the new file. Pages with nothing to hide can be kept as they are so their text stays searchable, or turned into pictures too.
Good to know
- Scanned PDFs have no text to search. Run them through the Image to Text (OCR) tool as searchable PDFs first, then redact them here.
- Always check the result before sharing it. Text that is part of a picture (a logo or a signature) can't be found automatically.
- Phone numbers are found in common US and international formats, such as (555) 123-4567, 555-123-4567 and +44 20 7946 0958.
๐ Your PDFs and the words you search for never leave your browser.
